1 The Black Orlov

The Black Orlov is famous for its fine quality and best cut. Its history is unknown. It weighs 195 carats and it can’t be cut. It is said it was called the Eye of Brahma previously. It was inlaid in the eye of Brahma, the God of Hinduism. Brahma is the creator of the universe in Hinduism, so it is also called the Eye of Creator. It seems the Black Orlov is very mysterious because all of its previous holders chose to plunge to their death. It was transferred from one place to another. In the 18th century, it was transferred to Russia and owned by Princess Orlov.

2 Spirit of de Grisogono Diamond

Spirit of de Grisogono Diamond weighs 312.24 carats. It is the largest cut black diamond in the world. It is also the world’s fifth largest cut diamond. It is set with 702 white diamonds totaling 36.69 carats in a white gold setting. It was mined from the West Central Africa with a weight of 587 carats. Then it was brought to the Swiss and cut with the Mogul diamond cutting technique. From the beginning of studying the cutting design to executing it, the whole process lasts for one year.

3 The Amsterdam Diamond

The Amsterdam Diamond is from South Africa. According to the legend, it is the real black diamond with 145 facets. It weighs 55.85 carats originally. After being cut, it weighs 33.74 carats. The diamond is cut into pear shape, with horizontally split main facets on the crown. It is named to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the founding of Amsterdam.

4 Gruosi Diamond

Weighing 115.34 carats, Gruosi Diamond is the largest heart-shaped black diamond in the world. This diamond is the center of a necklace. The necklace consists of some small black diamonds with the weight of 58.77 carats, 378 small white diamonds, and some deep green garnets with the weight of 14.1 carats, all set in a white gold setting. It took 3 years to cut it and the final weight loss after cutting and polishing was approximately 184.78 carats.

5 The Black Diamond of Bahia

It is found in Brazil. This 350-carat diamond was exhibited in the Crystal Palace in England. Its surface is rough, which is because it is so hard that can’t be polished.
